WebJan 20, 2024 · The L1A1 is what's referred to as an inch pattern rifle, whereas the FAL is considered a metric pattern. The weird thing is the FAL isn't metric at all. All of the dimensions on the weapon are called out in inch measurements. The magazines don't readily and reliably interchange between the two.
