Pull the cover look at the steel pin to see if its worn or the clips are worn. But that is normal to have 1/4" play. Id replace those bushings thats your noise. If your car has one tire fire then you need to rebuild the diff.

Webb24 dec. 2015 · Next time the axle is out, eyeball the thread and see if its damaged at all. Also look for a bend in the axle, this can unwind things as you roll.
