It stated that recommends 10% of your drive but not sure if that is formatted 10% or total compacity 10%. On my drive, I had a 1 TB SSD, Samsung Magician that need 96 GB. No, the 840 EVO used to have a feature called overprovisioning that when turned on removes some percent of your disk space to increase the lifespan of the drive.
